How do I Register?
Using the Westgard Course portal is pretty simple: (1) Register, (2) Enroll, and (3) Learn. However, you may want a few more details about how this process works.
So, in gory and graphic detail, here are the step-by-step steps you will take when you register with the website and enroll in a course:
STEP ONE. FIND THE MEMBERSHIP LINK Click on one of the links at the upper right: either Click here if you are not yet a member or Register
STEP 2. ENTER YOUR PROFILE DETAILS Fill out the registration form. All this asks is biographical information, your email address, and a password that you will remember to use when you visit and log into the site. You will have to enter a verification code (this is to prevent "spam" submissions). Submit this information and, if accepted, you will be brought back the main homepage of the education website.
STEP 3. FIND THE LIST OF CLASSES. now that you have registered , you may now Enroll in classes. Start by clicking on the Courses tab in the upper left part of the screen.
STEP 4. CLICK ON THE COURSE YOU WANT. You will see a list of the online courses available for enrollment (a short list as of early 2008, time of this screenshot). Click on the name of the course in which you would like to enroll.
STEP 5. CLICK ON THE LINK TO ENROLL IN THAT COURSE. You will see a page describing the course. Click the link in the upper right part of the screen that says the name of the course along with the word registration. In the screen above, the link says MVS1 Registration.
STEP 6. CONFIRM YOUR MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION FOR ENROLLMENT. You should see your profile information displayed, which you entered earlier during registration. You will click the option for credit card payment (The Access code is for academic classes and group rates and other special arrangements made with Westgard QC, etc.) Click Submit at the bottom of the screen.
STEP 7. You now see a secure page for entering your credit card information. Keep in mind while we accept major credit cards (Mastercard, VISA, American Express) for online payment, other forms of payment for courses are acceptable (purchase orders, US checks, bank transfers) - those payments simply cannot be handled online. Credit card payment gives you instant access to the course, while other forms of payment will require processing and some delay before we notify and create your login. Click I Authorize this transaction at the bottom of the screen to continue.
STEP 8. CONFIRM BILLING INFORMATION BILLING You now see a review of the billing information. (Here the specific credit card details are blacked out for security - in your real enrollment, you will see your credit card details). Note that this information should match up with your credit card billing address, or the payment system may block your purchase. You can make that change at this time if you need to. Again, click I Authorize this transaction at the bottom of the screen to continue.
STEP 9. CONFIRM AND SUBMIT PAYMENT You now see a review of the payment information. (Here the specific credit card details are blacked out for security - in your real enrollment, you will see your credit card details. This includes the address information you entered earlier. Finally, click Submit transaction for processing at the bottom of the screen and you will.
STEP 10. YOU ARE NOW REGISTERED, ENROLLED, AND READY TO LEARN. If the transaction is successful, you will be notified that you have been enrolled the course. You will also receive an email (and Westgard QC administrators will be notified) that you have now enrolled in the course.
You can go back to the Courses page and click on your course to start immediately. You can also access the course through the My Transcripts link, which will take you to a page that lists all the different courses and lessons in which you are enrolled.
